Hi Arch people,
I'm having a small but annyoing problem:
two days ago my mouse wheel stopped working
I have not changed any config (neither xorg.conf nor any HAL config file),
nor has pacman updated any packages which might have stopped it from
working.
I've already opened xev and moved around the mouse wheel -> no reaction
I also tried to cat /dev/input/event1 (my mouse) -> nothing (as soon as I
move my mouse around I get binary symbols)
I'm pretty clueless here
I've also checked my Xorg.0.log but I could not find any hint what's not working
=> grab it here: http://pastebin.ca/1447935
and if it matters - this is my xorg.conf: http://pastebin.ca/1447938
Edit:
I just downgraded KDEmod from 4.2.4 to 4.2.3 -> the problem still exists
thanks in advance

Hi XazZ,
Did you tried the mouse in another pc or with a live CD ? Maybe it' a hardware failure. Anyway according you your Xorg.log, the X server recognized your mouse wheel and mapped the Y axis to it.

Hi JF,
thanks for your answer
seems that you are right
I tested it on my grandpa's old notebook (with older arch -> yes... I didn't find time to update yet )
and the mouse wheel is also NOT working
I'll contact the manufacturer and see if he can help me
thanks for feedback
