Hi,
I recently got a Nokia 5310. It has a music player and I would like to put some music files from my laptop on the phone. I connected the phone via usb with my laptop and chose 'Data storage' from the phones menu. The phone pops up in 'Thunar', however when I click on it, I get the following message:
Failed to mount "Nokia 5310 Music Player".
org.freedesktop.hal.storage.mount-
removable no <-- (action, result).
So, hal doesn't seem to be able to connect to it. Now, when I run
~ $ lsusb

I don't get a device name. So, I don't know how to mount the phone manually.
Does any one have an idea, what I could do?
Cheers,
Thomas

How about reading the WiKi?
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/HAL#Troubleshooting
Problem is explained, including solution. Good Luck.

Thank for pointing me in the right direction. I followed exactly the part of the wiki where it says "USB sticks and drives do not automount correctly". Worked. Sorry for not having seen that there is a wiki entry for my problem.
Thanks again,
Thomas
