Any advice on a distro for an Ibook. I currently use yellow dog but they are going to use fedora core 3 and I would rather not be experimented on. My ibook is strictly for work and needs to be pretty solid. So I am leaning towards Debian but I have read that Crux has a PPC distro as well.

yes crux has a ppc port as does gentoo. i would warn you though that crux is more work than gentoo because they do not have very good dependency solving (in fact you have to solve most of them yourself). if you go on distrowatch you will get an idea of what is available ppc wise.
debian is good but very very slow to move along

FreeBSD/PPC perhaps? It's a fun OS.

I'd go for gentoo.
even if you go with crux, you'll have to compile a lot of stuff anyways....
