Question about "Desktop" directory

Hello guys,

whenever I installed Arch on my systems I always had a Desktop directory in my /home/user/.

But yesterday I installed Arch on my new Eee PC to run Musca on it, created the new user with adduser, but there is simply not such a directory.

It's not really annoying but I wonder when that directory will be created and when not.

Any ideas?

Thank you in advance. wink

Re: Question about "Desktop" directory

Firefox creates it, and I think gnome and the other DE's create it.

Re: Question about "Desktop" directory

is there a way to keep firefox from creating the 'Desktop' directory?  i *never* use it, and it kinda bugs me.

Re: Question about "Desktop" directory

I think Firefox's default download location is ~/Desktop/Downloads so it will create those directories. Try changing it's download folder.

I don't believe that has anything to do with it. I had to change something or other in gconf to get rid of it.
