I've got and old Samsung digital camera that connects via USB cord.
I've always had this issue with Linux and this cam, but I thought perhaps there was a simple solution to speed this process up. I tried to create a mount in my fstab, but still the same.
I plug the camera in, and it automounts, but takes a long time, about 5 min. It shows in Nautilus as USB Drive: SAMSUNG CAM.
I'm running Arch i86-64 rounded up some info if it helps.
[jeff@Arch2009p2 ~]$ uname -a
Linux Arch2009p2 2.6.29-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Wed May 20 06:42:43 UTC 2009 x86_64 AMD Phenom(tm) 9850 Quad-Core Processor AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux
[jeff@Arch2009p2 ~]$
