eeePC 1000HD Wireless Issue

I'm trying to install Arch on my eeePC and so far everything has gone well. Xserver is running, haskell is running, but unfortunately i just cant get the wireless working. It looks like the card is detected, i made sure it was up, but no matter what, when i try to scan for wireless networks it cant find anything. I looked at the wiki and it lead me to an AUR page that no longer exists, and ive looked around on the forums and on irc, and apparently someone else had this problem but the solution didnt work for me, so im really at a loss. any ideas?

Are you using HAL?
