Hey, I was recently given an OS-less g3 imac to mess around with and was hoping to put Arch onto it, but trying to download the .iso from http://www.archlinuxppc.org/download/ times out. Is the link known to be not working, and does anyone have a copy/ know where a mirror is?
Thanks

Ah, the html is bad, try the direct link:

Hmm thanks but your link also times out... and http://users.archlinux.de/~gerbra/mirrorcheck.html confirms that ftp.archlinuxppc.org is down. Any other suggestions? Guess I can try again in a few days in case it comes back up.

Just fyi, i never got it to work after a week, but i did get gentoo to work wonderfully on my g4 http://www.mirrorservice.org/sites/www. … 2008.0.iso

Odd, I'm unable to get it on the webpage but the direct-link i have no problem with. I guess this goes in the beware of weblinks.
Here's it is on rapid share:

I emailed the author so hopefully in the near future this won't be a problem.

Thanks for the rapidshare link. Right, here goes...

Just FYI (and not trying to resurrect an old thread because this hasn't changed since then) if you want to download the iso, you have to remove the ftp before archlinux.ppc.org:
wget ftp://archlinuxppc.org/iso/releases/2009-03-30_archppc-ftp.iso

wget ftp://archlinuxppc.org/iso/releases/2009-03-30_archppc-ftp.iso
This is the right solution, or use ftp1.archlinuxppc.org instead.
We'll fix the page soon.. thanks for the reporting
Also, don't use the forum for archlinuxPPC related things, but subscribe to archlinuxppc-user @ googlegroups .
Thanks
