Hi everybody,
I just finished writing a quite elaborate guide on using 'Archiso'. And I would like to have it proof-read by a couple of people other than my tired self.
Do not just proof-read, but check for consistency and content, too. Feel free to correct any errors.
Link to article: Archiso
In case some people find the time to do so: Thanks to you!

I looked over it only briefly.
In the "packages.list" section you could mention that the /etc/pacman.conf of the building (host) system is used for resolving packages. (eg if you have testing or custom repo's in there, it may affect your media)

I've just one question, how can I do to use custom packages? (eg custom kernel or aur package)?
Thx

A couple suggestions:
I'd avoid words like 'probably' and at the beginning of the article maybe you can say that this is the Official Guide?
Avoid we and let's references. Wikis are instructional use 'you'.
I got confused by these lines:
Note 1: As of the current date, the archiso in the official repos is not up-to-date enough to follow this guide and is therefore not recommended.
Note 2: The currently most recent version in the Git repo is broken (as of 3 May 2009). To make it usable, you need to do a few manual changes. Use the patches from here...
Since they are both git repositories... Ok, i think i got it when you say official repos you mean extra (i'm guessing extra because I'm at work now) and 'from here...' you mean the AUR PKGBUILD has the patches built in.
"a lot of useful stuff in there"
"An attempt has been made to cover most of what the Makefile actually does using comments in great verbosity." implies partialiality and is redundant.
Details about the splashscreen necessary?
If my comments were a bit brash... Anyways good guide! People can definitely use something like this.

I wanted to use this guide to perhaps attempt to build an ISO of my own, however I'm wondering if the current build from the repos is still broken or not? If it isn't, great but if it is, do I still follow your recommendations re: using the git + patches?

I believe the talk page in the wiki is meant for purposes such as proofreading and suggestions.

Technically, yes. I, personally, have found the talk pages to be marginally useful. I can certainly understand why people would want to talk about pages on the wiki in the forum.
That said, Karol makes a good point. If you _are_ talking about a wiki page on the forum, it might make sense to note such a thing in the talk page on the wiki. So that everyone at least knows where the current conversation is taking place..instead of having it all over the place.

I applied all suggested changes and made the part about custom packages/AUR packages somewhat clearer.
Also, I posted this request about proofreading here so that persons who are actually interested in the contents of that article aren't confronted with a bad article since those people would be the only ones proofreading it then. But then it would be too late. I therefore decided to shed some attention on this article by posting it on the forums first so that it would be correct once somebody actually searched for "archiso".
EDIT: The git repo version is still broken!

Very nice. How a wiki page should be done.
