Hello,
There is a debian package known as USBMOUNT. It can mount/umount usb devices (pen drives etc.) automatically. Have a look at it here http://www.zero-based.org/debian/
CCux Linux (rpm based i686 optimized distro) have already uploaded USBMOUNT for their distro. http://forum.ccux-linux.de/portal.php?topic_id=840
Can somebody create this package for Arch please?

usbmount is just a script which is called by udev when it recognizes a usb storage device

Just an FYI, but you can ditch all those mkdirs by adding the -D flag to the installs.
