I think extragear-multimedia needs some more dependencies....
depends=(qt kdebase kdesupport kdemultimedia libmtp libgpod libmp4v2 qtscriptgenerator cdrdao cdrkit cdparanoia libsamplerate lame libmad normalize sox ffmpeg musicbrainz libmpcdec libdvdread flac libvorbis)
optdepends=('dvd+rw-tools: for k3b dvd burning support'
'vcdimager: for k3b vcd burning support'
'transcode: for k3b advanced mpeg conversion support'
'emovix: for k3b bootable multimedia cd/dvd support'
'loudmouth: for amarok mp3tunes support'
'qca: for amarok ampache support')
These are the dependencies taken from amarok and k3b packages out of archs abs....

Every KDE application gives the following:
11:30 AM superstoned:~/>dragon dragon: error while loading shared libraries: liblzma.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
but I can't find out how to get that file... ???
ftp://ftp.archlinux.org/testing/os/x86_ … pkg.tar.gz
install this...

yep, I like arora, it's a nice browser.
I use firefox only because I have to (sites which don't work properly etc) cuz it looks horrible and has a few very annoying behavior issues (like the file save and file open dialogs which I LOATHE).
BTW KDE is getting a bit more stable again, good ;-)
I'm working on the release announcement again, he, got some numbers about fixed bugs etc etc... should I spill them or not ;-)

@superstoned:
If you like arora I'm sure you'll like rekonq too ;-)
It's in playground-network, you should give it a try (but it still is in an early stage though)

are rekonq and arora qorking for you at the moment?
For me it segfaults ecery time...

I compiled the latest rekonq from its git repo and it works fine.

It used to work just fine for me with KDE 4.2.[0-4] but after I've upgraded to >= 4.2.90 neither can I make it work. I'm not really that much into akonadi stuff, I've tried to do some debugging using akonadiconsole, but all I've got was meaningless (sth like "Error occured" when googledata tried to connect google). So maybe googledata just isn't yet compatible with akonadi 1.1.90?

Are you using i686 or x86_64?
Seems that theres an issue with qtwebkit that lets arora segfault...

Back to the idea of packages with debugging symbols:
Markc: what do you think of providing just some "snapshot" packages with debugging symbols? Maybe every 2 weeks or create an "beta" branch with these packages?
Best oprion would be to provide every 2 weeks splitted packages, or what do you think?

I get this error while using pacman. Do you guys know any other way to install that package besides pacman?
I use kdemod.

Not sure, but I think you are missing xz-utils from testing.
I just tried kdemod-packages yesterday, use the daily ones from here, they are much more usable at the moment. Only missing debug packages, bit you can easily compile with.
Offline
I know I have to install that package but when I try to install it with 'pacman -U' I get an error so I'm asking if there is another way to install that package?
Offline
"an error" doesn't tell me very much!
you should enable testing repo and than pacman -Sy xz-utils. Thats the way to do it!
Offline
The error that I quoted in my first post:
sudo pacman -Sy xz-utils
pacman: error while loading shared libraries: liblzma.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
It doesn't matter what I try to do with pacman I always get this error.

well did you remove xz-utils at a whole?
Download the package from a mirror manually, extract it, copy the folders manually in our /... then reboot and pacman -Sy xz-utils again...
Offline
OK, I've downloaded and copied it but when I run 'sudo pacman -Sy xz-utils' I get this errors:
...
'błąd: nie udało się przygotować tranzakcji' means 'error: couldn't prepare the transaction'
'błąd: nie udało się dokonać transakcji (konfliktujące pliki)' means 'error: couldn't do the transaction (file conflicts)'
'xz-utils: /usr/bin/lzcat znajduje się w systemie plików' means 'xz-utils: /usr/bin/lzcat exists in the file system'
