Hi,
I have problems to start doom3 with oss. When I start it with alsa it runs fine.
When I start it with oss it hangs on startup.

I'm having the same problem with Quake 4, it hangs on startup.
The workaround is to "emulate" ALSA, not really a solution: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/OSS#ALSA_emulation

No you can dump alsa and just give a command to run Doom 3. Doom3 was built on using OSS, so its not a proble. It normally detects OSS. To be sure it does run:
doom3 +set s_driver oss

Gen2ly, the problem is that the game hangs on startup when trying to run with OSS.
