got the 1008ha recently, actually it was a pain to replace the ram module and hdd with a ssd. but it worked out fine
i really like this netbook, but the battery life could be better. 4 hours is about average, can't get much higher - not giving up yet though ;D

Arch Linux work well on the 1008HA? I was thinking about buying one, the only gripe I had with the 1000HE's was the looks, once improved they reduce battery life.

I'm still looking for a perfect netbook...

I just installed Arch on my Asus 1000HE. What sold me on it was the awesome keyboard and long battery life.

arch works nicely on it
for some reasons networkmanager can't reconnect after suspend/hibernate (some rfkill issue) but netcfg can. so thats not a real problem for me.
