Hey, I accidently deleted the trash can symbol in the "places" sidebar of dolphin. Now I wonder how you can restore that, because even if you add a new entry leading to the trash, there will be no option that allows you to empty the trash via that icon.
I used that icon quite a lot and would like it back. As for now I have the trash widget in my bar, but I hope that is only temporary and I can restore the icon in dolphin. So, does anybody know how?

How's reinstalling sound? Or backup old config and then reinstall? I have never used dolphin, and don't know if reinstalling would somehow completely ruin something, but...

Reinstalling won't do a thing - how about deleting ~/.kde4/share/config/dolphinrc ?

Neither reinstalling everything (well, did a reinstall of the whole KDEmod package group, since I do not know in which package dolphin is) nor deleting the dolphinrc had any effect.

Delete both .kde4/share/config/dolphinrc and .kde4/share/apps/dolphin/

That also just reseted all dolphin settings but did not restore the icon under the places sidebar.

1. Open Dolphin
2. Press Ctrl + L and go to trash:/
3. Drag the trash icon closest to the 'trash:/' text into Places (it was probably placed above the root folder)
4. Right click and choose Edit ''
5. Rename to Trash and choose the user-trash icon in System icons: Places

Btw, the Places bookmarks are saved in .kde4/share/apps/kfileplaces/bookmarks.xml because it's shared by KDE apps, not used in Dolphin only.
