Create a live mp3 stream of the sounds being outputed by my speakers?

Hello,

I would like to stream the sound from my MythTV box as a mp3 stream that I could listen from another room (i.e.:the kitchen on my squeezebox).

Is there a way to do that in real-time?
If so, any pointer will be more than welcome

I believe JACK has this functionality, but I don't know. I've never used it.
