strange sound issue

using the current-stable archilinux+kde4.3beta2, feel that sound was really low, under xp the volume is really high. Using the alsa-utils move the volume to max but still not high as XP, the same using kmix. So open mp3blaster and changing mixers apears "PCM2" at 0%, so move to max and now is high as XP.

ideas?, why alsa doesnt have pcm2?, why if change the volume under mp3blaster kde is affected?

Re: strange sound issue

I'm not sure why it doesn't show up in your mixer (assuming it's alsamixer you're using - you can scroll to the right through all of your channels IIRC)

However, the reason that mp3blaster is affecting the output is more than likely because mp3blaster is simply controlling the alsa volume directly. You may have more success with a different mixer  if you can't get alsamixer to work. Volwheel would be my suggestion.
