I can ping but not browse to a internet address

I'm using Archlinux 64bit and since a system update I can't open any internet address with a browser. Everything else seems to be ok. I can ping to a url or a ip and I can browse with firefox on Windows XP, which is installed on vbox.

Google is full of similar topics. For example: http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11721 But nothings from the suggested workarounds helps:

echo 0 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/tcp_sack

I've added the testing repository and installed the kernel 2.6.30-3. But it's still not working.

Any ideas?

Re: I can ping but not browse to a internet address

1. Post your /etc/resolv.conf
2. Try disabling ipV6 per the wiki
3. Tell us how you are connecting to the internet (wired, wireless, netcfg, wicd, etc)

Re: I can ping but not browse to a internet address

Dear Scott

I disabled ipV6 as told in the wiki and I can now navigate to any page again. I don't really understand what I have done but at least is working!

Thanks for the help.
