[SOLVED] Do I have WIFI?

Hey,

Just need to know if there's a command I can type in the terminal to see if my Motherboard has wifi built in?.

Re: [SOLVED] Do I have WIFI?

If you do have wifi built in and it is automatically supported by the kernel, then if you type:

iwconfig

into a terminal it will say if you have any wireless devices.

Probably it wont return anything as you need to install drivers/firmware for most NIC's to show up. Use lspci as mentioned above to see what hardware is installed. (Paste it here if you don't know how to look for a wifi card in the output)

Re: [SOLVED] Do I have WIFI?

Nope, I don't see a wireless interface neither. Check your bios for a setting to disable it, if it is disabled there it doesn't show up in lspci. If there is no such setting (or it isn't enabled) you probably don't have wifi. You can buy a pcmcia card if you want to.
