Hi all,
I recently purchased a Lenovo T400 and have installed arch on it. Though I have gotten just about everything else working (well, except the network card) I am unable to suspend/hibernate (using gnome-power-manager).
When i select either suspend or hibernate, the screen just changes to a single blinking cursor and hangs and the half-moon light blinks. NOTHING will wake it up short of holding in the power button to force a shutdown.
I have tried a number of posted solutions, including the script presented in the ubuntu forums (http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Len … END-RESUME) as well as turning certain features off in the bios. The error occurs when multiprocessing is on or off and regardless of whether I am using the integrated or discrete GFX card.
Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be?
Thanks in advance,
Andy

Did you try if pm-utils do the same?
Like "$ sudo pm-hibernate"?
How does the log look?
(
$ cat /var/log/pm*
or something
)

pm-hibernate does the EXACT same thing... I just noticed, however, that once this has happened, I am still able to access the terminal via crtl+f1.
My log is as follows:
/usr/lib/pm-utils/power.d/sched-powersave false: **sched policy powersave OFF
success.
Initial commandline parameters:
Sat Jun 20 15:04:57 EDT 2009: Running hooks for hibernate.
/etc/pm/sleep.d/00CPU hibernate hibernate: success.

Thanks for the help,

Just a quick update: I cant always get to the terminal once I "suspend." Also, suspend via XFCE does the same thing (same suspend method?) so there must be a greater underlying problem... I cant really use a laptop without suspend/hibernate!!!
