looking for time tracking tool

I use light desktop (based on openbox). I am looking for some tool tracking time spent on projects. I was using KArm (at diferent distro with KDE), but only repository I found it (including AUR) is kdemod and I would have to install half of KDE with it. I installed GnoTime from yaourt, it is 75% solution but I miss tray icon and ability to add sub-project/phases to existing projects. Hamster-applet requires Gnome panel I do not use.

My fellow Archer's - any recommendations ?

Re: looking for time tracking tool

I have never found a good tool for Linux for this and I have tried many. I use this http://www.allnetic.com/ under Wine. Has tray icon--*very* easy to switch projects and add projects and view work done today, this week, this month. etc.  Reports are very nice. I think it's a great app.

Pity there's not a better native one. smile

http://orgmode.org which among other things has clocking.

You need to install an RTFM interface.

Re: looking for time tracking tool

Try Rachota
Uses java, so not super-lightweight, but it seems to be pretty feature rich.

Good luck!

I tried it--not as easy to use as AllNetic and it doesn't fit my needs as much. IIRC each interval must be labeled.

Interesting tool. A bit too low-level for me. smile

Thanks!
