Hey all,
I've been using OpenOffice 3 (openoffice-base beta and devel and stable now) and have tried to install the Sun Presenter Console, but I get the following error:
% /opt/openoffice/program/unopkg add -v sun-presenter-screen-linuxintel.oxt
ERROR: (com.sun.star.deployment.DeploymentException) { { Message = "An error occurred while enabling: PresenterScreen.uno.so", Context = (com.sun.star.uno.XInterface)@-4c944490 }, Cause = (any) { (com.sun.star.registry.CannotRegisterImplementationException) { { Message = "loading component library failed: file:///home/shshe/.openoffice.org/3/user/uno_packages/cache/uno_packages/tHnwYZ_/sun-presenter-screen-linuxintel.oxt/PresenterScreen.uno.so", Context = (com.sun.star.uno.XInterface) @0 } } } }
rollback...
Disabling: PresenterScreen.xcs
rollback finished.
An error occurred while enabling: PresenterScreen.uno.so
Using the GUI extension manager installer also brings up the same error.
Anyone else encountering this problem, or know of a solution? A google search doesn't bring up many hits, which leads me to believe it might be an Arch Linux specific problem...
Edit: Added verbose output thanks to aksdb
Edit: openoffice-base 3.0.0-2 fixes this problem! Thanks AndyRTR

I encounter the same problem. To be more precise, -v (verbose) gives the following details:
ERROR: (com.sun.star.deployment.DeploymentException) { { Message = "Fehler beim Aktivieren von: PresenterScreen.uno.so", Context = (com.sun.star.uno.XInterface) @-4ca9fc98 }, Cause = (any) { (com.sun.star.registry.CannotRegisterImplementationException) { { Message = "loading component library failed: file:///opt/openoffice/program/../share/uno_packages/cache/uno_packages/9c5ZOV_/sun-presenter-screen-linuxintel.oxt/PresenterScreen.uno.so", Context = (com.sun.star.uno.XInterface) @0 } } } }
The same happens with other Sun extensions (like pdfimport). It works fine however with the Sun OOo versions (the binary ones from the website).
I guess it's a packaging problem, because the vanila OOo has a different directory layout: /opt/openoffice.org and /opt/openoffice.org3 (both with a large sub directory tree consisting of libraries, programs and other shared files), where Arch Linux only has /opt/openoffice.

Thanks for the info aksdb,
I've opened up a bug (with some horribly messed up formatting) here: http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/11792
It seems like theres no way to edit the description?

this happens beacause we build against gcc-libs and disabled --without-stlport shipping of internal stlport. How many extension are built by Sun using old gcc3.3 ?

I know of at least three: the presenter console, the pdf importer and the collaborative spreadsheet editing. But as far as I know, even some other extensions depend on it (for example I bought the Duden Korrektor some time ago [for OOo 2.4] and had to copy over the stlport library from the original OOo distribution to get it working). I know that these additional libraries are not very elegant but seem to be required for the OOo extension system (at least for the gcc extensions).

Ah, now I know why I can't install the pdfimport extension.
Is there anything one can do to get these extensions work?

update your system. 3.0.0-2 should fix it.

Did the update and now it works
Thanks a lot

Hello,
I am getting the following error when trying to install the Sun PDFImport into OpenOffice 3.1.0-2 and was wondering if it might be related to the above error.
(com.sun.star.uno.RuntimeException) {{ Message = "URP-Bridge: disposed(tid=10) No typdescription can be retrieved for type com.sun.star.brige.XProtocolProperties", Context = (com.sun.star.uno.XInterface) @0} }
Any workaround out there?
Thanks in advance for your help!
