I note some references in googling to devices defined as :
uhci-ucd
ohci-ucd
ehci-ucd
Are these relevant to archlinux?
Prediction...This year will be a very odd year!

I don't quite understand the question, but I can explain to you, what these modules (!) are: They provide your kernel with USB support.
modprobe ehci_hcd //to enable USB 2.0 support
modprobe uhci_hcd //to enable USB 1.1 support for some controllers
modprobe ohci_hcd //to enable USB 1.1 support for the other controllers
These modules come with the stock Arch kernel, so you can just go ahead and modprobe them, if you need them.
Does that answer your question?
Edit: I just notice your using dashes and not underscores, so I might indeed have misunderstood your question.

hugelmopf;
Thanks for reply.
My post has reference to the terms listed as found while googling for info on the Udev system being implemented in Linux.
Under Udev, some designators change such as ...uba1, uda1, etc and also the terms I posted.
Am not presently afflicted with these symbols but do expect that in months to come Udev will be the norm so want to understand the ins and outs as time goes marching on......
