submitting packages question
I use the transmission-gtk from the extra repo...current version on repo is 1.60 this version is banned by some of the private trackers I use.
I went through and made a PKGBUILD for 1.72.
did a makepkg -cs
a pacman -U pkgname.pkg.tar.gz
it updated and works on the sites I need it to.
now what should I do?

flag the package on the repo as out of date...
edit:
checked, its already flagged.. maybe check if there is an AUR package, if not, and you plan to keep on maintaining it, upload ir to aur

The submitted PKGBUILDs MUST NOT build applications already in any of the official binary repositories under any circumstances.
You may want to send your updated PKGBUILD to the maintainer to help them out/remind them about the update.

no you can't, only developers can upload binary packages to the repos. If there is more to the PKGBUILD than just a simple version bump you can mail the maintainer of the package your new PKGBUILD.

ok...
its maintained by Alexander Fehr
I've got a pkgbuild done...
tested on arch i686 and x86_64
it builds on both without error
I couldn't find a way of communicating directly with the maintainer...aka email
is there another way to get the maintainer the pkgbuild?
