Hi,
recently I have found that selecting things by holding ctrl+LMB is broken in Blender. I've been trying to fix this for a month now, but without success. It's pretty annoying thing. It should work like this: you press and hold ctrl+LMB and draw a shape around vertices/edges/faces you want to select - very handful when working with hi-poly models. But it does not work like it should - it behaves as if I release the LMB right after clicking it. If I select the area fast enough (0.1 sec or something), then sometimes I got some things selected, but it is rather annoying.
Does anyone have any idea why holding ctrl+LMB could be broken?
I've tested it on KDE4 and XFCE4.6, so it's not the DE issue. Maybe incorrect xorg settings or something?

Some applications are WYSIWYG, and some are WYSIWTF.

Have you tested it with a more "to the core" windowmanager, like fvwm2, icewm or wmii?
Did you upgrade Blender before ctrl-lmb stopped working, or was it like this from the start?
To me, it sounds like a windowmanager issue.

Perhaps I should try something more lightweight...
This started to occur in some hard to define point in the past - it used to work properly few months ago, but I haven't used Blender very often since then.
P.S.
Okay - you were right. I got rid of KDM and used Slim instead - everything is fine now. Thanks!
