[SOLVED?] the notebook does not suspend any more

I have a HP510 notebook which used to suspend just fine several months ago. However, somewhere around 2.6.29 it stopped working. pm-suspend does nothing, and I can't see anything in the logs. Updating to 2.6.30 did not help. I would like to file a bug report upstream but frankly, I do not know what kind of information should I attach or how to diagnose the problem any further.  Help appreciated.

EDIT: It suspends today. I am a little puzzled, since I do not recall making any relevant changes in the configuration since last reboot. On resuming, however, I get a black screen but I blame Intel KMS here.

Re: [SOLVED?] the notebook does not suspend any more

It does not seem to be connected, I am not running PowerDevil and my policykit/consolekit seems to be set up all right: polkit-auth includes org.freedesktop.hal.power-management.suspend.  I believe it is kernel related but I am going to fiddle with this more.

Thanks for the suggestion, though.
