after upgrade, nvidia beta drivers and wl module no longer work

after a recent upgrade (i think probably portmap --> rpcbind), my nvidia beta drivers no longer run, and my wireless module, wl, would appear to have simply disappeared. So, i am now running on vesa, with no wireless sad

i notice that in the announcement about the portmap --> rpcbind upgrade, it mentioned that i should change my rc.conf accordingly, however i did not see what there was that i should change, so i did nothing.

coming to think about it, is it possible that this is in fact due to the kernel upgrade to 2.6.30?

Re: after upgrade, nvidia beta drivers and wl module no longer work

indeed is because of kernel upgrade but you have to recompile those drivers against kernel2.6.30. that happens then you are using unsupported builds from aur.

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.
