my host is arch 64....
and in order to use some windows software,so i installed the virtualbox to run xp(32)..
but when i want to use a dvd,if arch64 can't recognise,i can't also use in xp......its so unconvinient....
i even want to solve the problem by google...but i dont know how to describe my situation by a shot word....

Try enabling passthrough in the virtual machine configuration and see if at least the windows inside can see the disk.

can see it...but can not read........just like the real XP can not read a disk.......

I guess only two words are enough to describe your problem: bad disk.
You say it yourself, the real XP cannot read the disk too, the problem is not the OS you try to use, the problem is a broken disk.

no..no...
the disk is OK,i try it on aother computer,and it can work well..........
i just mean the message that the virtual xp gives me is like the real xp read a bad disk
