Hello,
I'im using an EeePC 1000HA, and I'm following this guide to setup Arch on the netbook.
I had success up to the point where I had to create the .xml file for the touchpad. I entered all the information exactly how it is on the wiki, and now whenever I run the command "startx" in a terminal, it loads openbox (the window manager I chose), and I have a cursor on my screen. When I go to even touch the touchpad, it freezes all of X and I can't even do a Ctrl + Alt + Delete to reboot the system, so I have to do a hard reset.
Does anybody know what should be fixed?
Also, the wiki mentioned something about installing the "eeepc-acpi-generic" kernel module. How would I get that onto my netbook, and how would I load it on startup, as it's asking me to?
Thanks, the help is greatly appreciated. This is my second attempt at installing Arch on my netbook, and I'm having troubles again. ![]()

Make sure you have installed xf86-input-synaptics. For some reason I managed to overlook that step in the wiki several times, causing me to chase my tail until I realized what I was missing.
If that isn't the case for you, instead of ctrl-alt-del (which I believe has been disabled) try ctrl-alt-f1, then ctrl-c to kill X. See if there are any error messages in the output from X. These will (hopefully) shed some light on what the problem is.
Edited for grammar.
