KPhotoalbum - bug or?

Hi, I read about a lot of users online that enjoy KPhotoalbum. But on my two computers I always get the welcome screen that ask's me to build a database of my colection. And it is saved in my photos folder. So, since I see so many running it problemfree, i was wondering maby it's only Arch's version?
