i have to admit i'm at a bit of a loss... i don't have a dual display setup and am honestly not sure how conky handles situations like that...

Re: Ghost1227's Desktop Workshop

Well how about you make just a gasmask theme along the lines o 1680x1050 (your choice) preferably blackback ground and i can implement the other monitorno problem by adding the extra black space to the wallpaper.  If not thanks anyway.

Now stop messing about on Ubuntu Forums get on with creations!!!!! lol

Happy 4/7 x

Back on Topic can I have a sweet Todo list? need a couple

basically one is for home stuff [real life!] and work related I add a '-' to work stuff atm but it looks messy, then I lose interest and it gets left and not Done!

Background well I will sort that out

Re: Ghost1227's Desktop Workshop

Nothing complex at very least a list top left one top right ..... but I know it could be better

maybe a bullet list '.' for how urgent [although my todos are more, get done when they are done!]

I mix work and home stuff in one list and it looks confusing

Going to look at Todo.txt.

http://wiki.github.com/ginatrapani/todo … with-conky

Needs work that looks real messy!!!!!

Re: Ghost1227's Desktop Workshop

@Mr. Green - Does this look any cleaner? I used a small script to massage the todo.txt output a bit. Note - my wallpaper rotates every 2 min, so sometimes the list & calendar isn't super readable, but given lack of conky semi-transparency, I don't mind smile I love the simplicity of todo.txt and the aim bot for using it with my phone. Calender entries are from Google calender.

Sorry - not trying to offtopic the thread!

Re: Ghost1227's Desktop Workshop

@firecat53 you are on topic its Desktop related, I am not keen on the numbers in list output colour for priority would be better but not a great issue for me, a couple of lists would be more than enough for ;-)

Just because it's called Ghost1227's Desktop Workshop doesn't mean that others aren't welcome to post their own tips/scripts if they beat me to something, I've got a lot going on in RL right now and sometimes you'll just be more on the ball than me. Nice job on the script!

I accomplished this with a single conky. Quite simple too...

${color 000000}${font Corazon:size=25}TODO${font}
${hr}
${color 000000}${exec grepp todo /path/to/todo | sed "1 d"}

${color 000000}${font Corazon:size=25}WORK${font}
${hr}
${color 000000}${exec grepp work /path/to/todo | sed "1 d"}

and the todo list...

[todo]
Windscreen
Car insurance
Other shit

[work]
Ebay items
Check Listings
Ikea stuff

It does require grepp, the grep by paragraph implementation I have posted in AUR.

Not technically a theme, Day And Night is a time-based wallpaper changer that depends on nitrogen.

Re: Ghost1227's Desktop Workshop

Ok.

Lets take Taco Bell as an example. They list their menues on colorfull boards - jumbled in between taco menues, condiments and soft drinks conky could list system stats. Perhaps even mpd/mocp song listings.

It's a pretty silly idea, but tacos seems to be a reoccuring theme within the Archosphere and it might be fun.
