[Solved] Network upload speed issues

Suddenly my network upload speed (internally) is capped at 6-700kbs.

I usually stream my hdmovies(1080p) to my ps3 through cabled networking here at home and the speeds were about 2MBs-4MBs or so, they were enough atleast.. Now however i cant even stream a normal lov res videofile without it stopping up. The speed is suddenly capped at 6-700kbs. The system is fully up to date.

Hardware specs: Asus A6Ja, gigabit networking(module: r8169).

EDIT: Just noticed that when im trying to stream now, i cant download or anything from the web since the outspeed is completely topped.
EDIT2: Turns out some of my ports on the broadband router is capish. I thought i had tried them all but apparently not, it works now with 3/4 ports destroyed Anyway thanks for the replys.

Try disabling ipV6 per the wiki.

That had no effect.
Just to clearify, its only my upload speed thats gone south. Download speeds are as before, only the upload speed has been capped at 600kbs (on the LAN, on the web its much lower ofc..)

well, no errors or dropped packets... not sure if it helps, but decrease the mtu:

ifconfig eth0 mtu 576

Had problems with my switch and "stalled" ssh-transfers and this helped.

I guess the kernel is the main suspect, so you could try to downgrade it and see if the problem goes away. If so, you should probably report it to the kernel guys (kernel bugzilla or lkml).

thanks, but i think ive found out whats wrong. when i took away my broadband router and just connected to my ps3 directly, the speed was fine.. so there may be some idiot policy in the broadband router. il have to look into it first.
