Space missing on home page.

Hi all,

I'm not sure who to direct this to but the homepage needs editing.

There is a space missing in the third sentence 'We complement our official package sets with acommunity-operated package repository that grows in size and quality each and every day.'

All the best,

Re: Space missing on home page.

You do mean the part "a community-operated package repository", don't you? The spacing is correct here... Maybe they just fixed it.

Konqueror, Version 4.2.4 (KDE 4.2.4).  KDEMod

PS.  I just checked again and it was stll missing.  When I middle clicked to paste the sentence into my first post I was surprised that the space was correctly placed!  Perhaps Konqueror is reading the formating incorrectly.

PPS.  Mozilla/Firefox shows the page correctly.

Re: Space missing on home page.

Hi all,

With further testing I can say that Konqueror (Konqueror Version 4.2.4 (KDE 4.2.4)) shows the text correctly when the window is of a certain size but incorrectly when the window is at other certain sizes.

I can screenshot this if anyone is bothered to see.......or you can try to recreate it for yourselves! smile

I get the problem to show whenever 'a community-operated package repository' is at the end of the displayed line of text with the sentence continuing below.

(Am I making this explanation way too complicated?) 8)

Re: Space missing on home page.

Can you duplicate with similar source code like

     testing one two three
     <b>four</b> five six

In other words are all the spaces between \n and < deleted?

Ah I see...

Well I made the file and all the spacing was fine, nothing was cut with the text wrapping just fine in Konqueror.

No, it only seems to happen with 'a community....'

I just noticed that my comment about the 'community....repository' being at the end of the line is not strictly true, the effect shows in other circumstances too.

Here is a screenshot...

Re: Space missing on home page.

You should submit a bug, here is a guide
http://konqueror.kde.org/investigatebug/#html

Maybe just a link to the homepage will do if you can't pinpoint the bug in the html/css.

Procyon, thanks for the pointer, I do make some web stuff but at a very basic level and not enough to start bug hunting!  I will enter the bug into the link you gave.

EDIT:  Apparently you need to run the latest development release and test for the bug in that version before submitting a bug report.
