Help with newest arch installation.

Currently I have a white macbook 2,1 , and have had arch on it in the past. Recently i bought a new HDD and wanted to reinstall both OSX and Arch.

I used the Arch64 FTP installation and noticed a few things.
Its doesn't use HWdetect, I think, is the result of not having and modules in the MODULES line in rc.conf. I assume they were built in to the kernel.???

The main issue i was having was dealing with ALSA. It seems after the installation, alsa was build in. I wanted to be able to use OSS.

Anyway, is there a way to avoid building everything in to the kernel

Re: Help with newest arch installation.

It's not built in. It's auto-detected. You can still use OSS.

Re: Help with newest arch installation.

Is it?
I followed the arch ALSA and OSS wiki (just for a failsafe to make sure it wasnt user error) ... and after being 'auto detected' it seems as tho it was never detected. sad

I have no snd-* modules loaded or even available. Im going to try to install with a normal live cd instead of the FTP installer. Ill post back.
