Hey,
VirtualBox just got upgraded to 3.0 in community. Yay! Thank you maintainer!
Now I just wanted to try it out, but I see all my machines I had previously just won't show up anymore. A little digging deeper shows me that the machines and images still exist in ~/.VirtualBox/ but thats not where 3.0 seems to be looking. Even though I started VBox as a normal user, it creates a new .VirtualBox folder in /root with user=root and group=users. Also the settings show default folders for machines and images to be /root/.VirtualBox. Setting those to ~/.VirtualBox/ won't work, since VBox is still looking for VirtualBox.xml in /root/.VirtualBox.
I'm reluctant to copy and manually edit my previous config-files to /root, as I think its just plain wrong behaviour.
Can anybody confirm this?
I'm quite puzzled as to why VBox is behaving like this. If it is intended by the VBox devs, does anybody know how to get the old proper behaviour back? Asking before I file a bug-report somewhere..
Cheers,
m.
