@Maki: You're right. Just looked at my log-file. Amarok now depends on liblastfm which isn't in the official repos yet. I just compile it from AUR but maybe markc could include it to his repo.
@venky80: I think this is also the reason why there is no lastfm-support in Amarok at this moment.

Since todays upgrade, you need to update libjpeg from testing in order to have stuff actually work for you. ;-)
edit:
I just noticed, that qt-copy still is 4.5.1 and not 4.5.2 as the version in the repo says
(open "qtconfig" from a konsole and goto "Help" -> "About Qt" and you'll see what I mean)

wooow, the last update almost broke a lost of things so have to install qt4 from testing and now works fine, but...
Some images are really !!big!! under konqueror xD

I haven't been able to launch kde4 in the past few days. I get a basic popup window that says kstartupconfig4 does not exist or somethings like that. Check your installation.
I tried installing qt from testing but with no luck...
Any clues?
When i launch some kde programs from another desktop environment (xfce4) i get:
[kde4@localhost ~]$konqueror

Well, for me its working very nice. do you have libjpeg updated from testing?
Offline
Yes, i use testing packages. I just found that i had kdelibs from testing installed. I'm upgrading to kdelibs from kde-svn now and i'll how it goes.
Offline
I had [testing] before [kde-svn] in pacman.conf and that was causing the problem. I put kde-svn first and upgraded to the latest packages. Everything is fine now.
Offline
anyone else having problems with "missing" application icons?
yeah most of my KDE applications have lost their tray/menu icons.
Offline
@capthookb: kde-svn has been building against the new libjpeg pretty well since it arrived in [testing] so what you observed makes sense as I guess the kde packages in [testing] have not been rebuilt yet.
@Exershio: perhaps try launching a few apps from a shell and you might get some idea which ones are missing so we can try and track them down.
Offline
@pano/Exershio: You might also try running kbuildsycoca4 from a terminal to see if that helps. I know that's made a difference for me in the past.
Offline
Well and have you tried my tipp in reinstalling icon-theme-hicolor?
I hab missing icons from kget kopete etc. and that solved it...
Offline
@Solid1986Snake: oh, did you mean hicolor-icon-theme?... never mind, I just installed it for tonights build, thanks for the reminder.
Btw this is the first one I'll be running from a cron job, here's hoping it works okay.
Offline
Yes, sorry i meant hicolor-icon-theme...
But it was not for you markc, dunno if it makes any changes when you reinstall it But it made a change when I installed it on my local pc.
Lets wait if it helps Exershio too and if we could add it as a dependency...
Offline
@Solid1986Snake:
Yeah, I tried installing hicolor-icon-theme, but it didn't help at all.
However I'm off to KDEmod testing for a few weeks (I need a little bit more stable Environment the next few weeks ;-)), so I can't help/test/do anything about that icon issue...
See you again in a few weeks :-)
Offline
I switched to kdemod-testing (4.3 RC1 atm) because I want a slightly more stable release as well. So far everything's working perfect, no more icon disappearing troubles.
Offline
I've recently switched to kde-svn.. works great so far (just one minor crash with krunner).. but I'm also missing application items. to be specific at least kopete has no icon.
I've already reinstalled the hicolor package and run kbuildsycoca4.. nothing changed.. any ideas?

It seems that the latest version of kde-base-plasma I have is 4.3.0-1009062219. Can we have a newer one ?
I would really like to test the new Plasma Netbook containment.
Offline
How about add to your repos some language packages (maybe all?)
Offline
I'm experiencing some problems with current kde-svn packages. A few examples:
[*]when i try to select a new wallpaper for plasma, plasma-desktop crashes,
[*]Some images are rendered in a bigger size than the default in konqueror
[*]Kopete crashes when i try to send or receive a message
[*]Digikam,amarok crash as well
[*]maybe others...
I noticed that except from kde-base-plasma, kdebindings is also outdated. I'm struggling to compile it but it has many problems with everything related to qtruby. Any ideas?

@friesoft: different problems come and go with the possibility that whatever it is will be fixed in the next few builds.
@habarnam: did you mean extragear-base-plasma perhaps... if so it just won't build atm.
@Spy: compiling all languages everyday is not worth the time and bandwidth. I made this PKGBUILD ages ago to get around it so I hope it still works, let us know if you try it -> http://github.com/markc/kde-svn/blob/ma … 4/PKGBUILD
@capthookb: sorry, no ideas from me, hopefully someone else has some ideas. I've tried manually building both those packages and they stop with compiler errors and not simple build issues I can fix.
Offline
markc, the problem is ruby's version from testing. I have downgraded ruby to 1.8 from extra, and kdebindings is building ok. After installing the new kdebindings package playground-base-plasma builds as well without errors.

@capthookb:
The Konqueror issue you have is caused by the libjpeg update, I don't know how this can be fixed though
Offline
Yes, probably. I'm not complaining or anything

I saw a patch somewhere some days ago that fixed alot of prolems with libjpeg against kde 4.2.4 ... I think this issue will be fixed in trunk the next days/weeks
