Freezing the update

Hi, Linux community health and asks you for advice.

When you try to update the system (pacman -Suy, or yaourt -Suy) when downloading 'extra' freezes pc (laptop HP Compaq 6730s). Freezes and the Caps Lock lighting notebook and an reaction nothing (not even switch to a virtual console).

However, if you enter pacman -Sy everything will be okay, but when I try to download the first package using pacman -Su will become the same thing - a notebook freezes.

Very thank you all, I am desperate.

Thank you also google translator, English can not: (.

Re: Freezing the update

What does the /var/log/pacman.log say ?

In this case can alt+sysrq+S/U/B do something or totally kernel panic ?
