Problems installing packages on arch64

Hello everyone,
every single time i try to donload ans intall Xorg the computer freezes right when installing AVAHI. I check on /var/log for any clue regarding this but everything seems normal; could it be a broken installer on the repository ? has this happened to anyone else ?
I really like arch but if i cant solve this i may be switching to ubuntu server :S

Re: Problems installing packages on arch64

I just installed arch 64 and no  problem there.
Maybe try using another mirror or perhaps download/install it over ssh...

Re: Problems installing packages on arch64

It seems you have only the base system installed.
Check your current install image against the md5sum to see if the image is ok, then just create a new filesystem on the partition you want to put arch and try to install again.

The avahi package (or any other package) is checked to see if it is ok before it is installed so it shouldn't be a broken package, also I believe the installer resides on the install image (the .iso or .img you download).
