Hang on external SCSI

I have a 500gb My Book that is connected via eSata.  I want to put my main rig on full time Arch vs Windows.  Well I after the grub boot on the liveUSB it gets to "Attached SCSI removable disk" and just hangs.  I have tried ACPI=off and the legacy boot with the same results, I do not know a lot of the boot flags nor can I seem to find them on ArchWiki or Google mainly because I can't find the proper wording.  I have tried just unplugging the device and unplugging the eSata but it still looks for the device which I find odd.
