Is the Sound Blaster Augidy support or not?  I installed arch last night and no matter what I tried I couldn't get it playing that test sound from alsa.

Re: Sound Blaster Audigy supported or not?

It should be. The required module name is emu10k1, so can do a

lsmod | grep emu10k

to see if it's loaded

Are you sure nothing is muted and the required volume fader are up in alsamixer?

Yea, spent over three hours trying to get it to play, nothing muted, volume up.

I usually have to switch the Audigy Analog/Digital Output Jack to [off] in alsamixer to get sound on a new install. My card is an Audigy 1 Platinum eX.

Re: Sound Blaster Audigy supported or not?

I'm on an SB Audigy. Works fine for me. Only thing I had to deal with my first time setting it up (via the Arch Beginner's Guide) was changing the digital/analog switch as suggested above, and fixing the volumes.

Running the SB Audigy 2 ZS here, and never had to do anything special to get it to work, and no issues to report.
