Firestarter no syslogd error.

I keep getting the following error since I have syslog-ng, the arch default, running when I start firestarter.  "Failed to open the system log; No realtime hit information will be available. Please make sure the syslog daemon is running." If anyone is aware of how to make firestarter use syslog-ng or of another solution please let me know. I guess I can always switch to another firewall program, I just like to see the hits when I am working in gnome.
Thanks,
Steve

Re: Firestarter no syslogd error.

I think the answers in this post:  http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php? … ter+syslog

The answer is about halfway through though, so here it is:

I joined Firestarter's mailing list and found a solution...

The key was to edit the firestarter script in /root/.gnome2/firestarter

by adding these two lines to the end of it... fixed the GUI functionality right up....

[Files]
syslog=/var/log/kernel
