Good day Arch forums.
Trying to use Arch as a guest in VirtualBox OSE. (version 2.1.4_OSE)
The install went smooth but upon trying to boot the installed system it crashes at udev having loaded and initialized the SCSI sub system
I remove the SCSI hook from mkinitcpio.conf during install, and am thinking about booting from a Damn Small Linux ISO to blacklist the SCSI module.
Its a fresh install from the i686 FTP ISO I downloaded last night, and the little but of investigation I've done shows I'm not the only one with this problem: http://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/2149

Indeed, it seems that the new kernel breaks virtualbox installs.

Aha that explains. Ever since I upgraded to 2.6.30 I have the same problem when booting Arch iso's.

FYI: I have no problem with virtualbox (not the OSE) 2.2.4 and ISOs with 2.6.30. I'm on x86_64.

Update, I used the kernel panic page in the wiki to install the 26-2.6.29.4-1 kernel and the system boots fine, and I'll be holding back kernel updates for now.
Marking solved.

'[workarounded]' would seem like a better tag
