Hi
I have a FS U9200 laptop, # echo 7 > /proc/acpi/video/GFX0/LCD/brightness works. If I start Arch normally and press Fn+F8/F9 (brightness down/up), showkeys tells I pressed brightness down AND down OR brightness up AND down ((down||up)&&down). So it looks like up+down or down+down, which means raising brightness doesn't work at all (not in console, not in X).
If I blacklist video module in rc.conf, it works great until I log in and out of Gnome and then log back in. After the second login it's the same like above, but if I kill gnome-power-manager it's good again. If I dont't have video module blacklisted, just power manager disabled then it's working, but... what's happening? Something does something with something here

Strange.
If I start normally: GDM starts and brightness is not working.
If I start with gnome power manager disabled GDM starts and brightness is working.
If I start with !video GDM starts and brightness is working.
Or... something like this o.O

I think X loads something when I log out and it restarts. Should I disable video module somewhere else?

But there are similar bugs in g-p-m.
This is bad because no g-p-m = no suspend in the menu.

I found the solution:
adding acpi_backlight=vendor as boot parameter.
