I tried updating this morning but it appears it cannote locate this file. I've tried several different mirrors and it just doesn't find this file. Anyone else having this problem or know how to help? If it helps to know, this is the first -Syu problem I've ever had.

what version of e2fsprogs ? currently in core is 1.41.8-1 and was updated today. maybe you have to wait a bit more to sync the mirror properly

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

I've had a the same problem, I ran a new install yesterday (keep coming back to Arch!) and it won't update e2fsprogs either. I also can't install firefox as it has the same complaint about xulrunner... I'm also using the GB repos.

Hmm, still have the problem. I'll wait until tomorrow and try again. I'm in Scotland if it helps, everyone else here seems to be from UK.

Hey, I found a way to fix it. I swiched to a German server in the Mirrorlist and updated, then switched back to a British one and updated again and voila! Thanks for all the help, and I hope that works for everyine else too.

I managed to get it yesterday evening on one of the mirrors, can't remember which though. It seems like a simple GB mirror issue though

Yeah it does. I think it's actually a dependancy problem since the German server didn't download e2fsprogs, but when it finished updating from there, e2fsprogs downloaded happily and installed from the GB server.

Confirming that switching from the GB to the DE repos fixes this (for me!)

At least one of the German mirrors worked for e2fsprogs. As for xulrunner, the Irish ones worked.

This seems to be happening for a number of packages on UK mirrors, gd-2 is another example (I was installing texlive-most). Curly Wurly, you said that it later downloaded from the GB server, but how can this be so when it isn't there? I wonder if it didn't redownload it, but used the local cache instead? Otherwise this is all very confusing! ![]()

I had this problem this morning while trying to do a ftp/http install, installation kept aborting at 'installing packages' because e2fsprogs was missing, I was trying to use the UK mirrors, eventually managed to complete the install after switching to an Ireland mirror:
ftp://ftp.heanet.ie/mirrors/ftp.archlin … /os/x86_64
It was quite annoying...
