Hi all!
I just updated the new kernel, unfortunately with shaman, but something went wrong... and now i can't boot because grub get stuck while uncompressing the kerne... or something similar. I'm not sure because it just keeps rebooting right after the grub menu and with a glimpse of the eye i can get that it stuck on decompressing the kernel...
By the way, how can i fix this now?
Do i have to use a live distro and manually reinstall the kernel?

I think that's the best way for it, with livecd/liveusb or something similar. But not the kernel only, i think the grub program too, you will see.

mmm... but how can i configure the kernel without a working kernel :-(

I am guessing you are using JFS as your filesystem. There is a bug that causes this problem it in the latest kernels up to the current release candidate. If you wish to continue using JFS, you will need to move your boot folder off of it onto its own partition and re-install Grub.
See the following thread for more information:

thank you sooo sooo much !!!
But it's strange because at that time the kernel it's not even loaded... can it be a compression problem? Because it might be that i shut down the computer while shaman was still upgrading the kernel... anyway i'll try asap to move the /boot partition and reinstall grub.
Off course i'll have to use a live distro of some kind.. do somebody of you know a good distro that's easy to install on a usb key?

Perhaps you could use Archlinux installer?
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ins … _USB_stick
This way you'll get a simple, functional, command-line system, that will boot from USB.
Some applications are WYSIWYG, and some are WYSIWTF.

It's because the image never got created. You can't just turn off a computer in the middle of an upgrade and expect things not to break. I think you need regenerate the image. Check the wiki 'mkinitcpio'
try this link, it will re-install the last good kernel you had and re-generate the image for you http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Kernel_Panics
