Nvidia 6629 ..

Hi,

It looks like I may need to buy a new graf card ...

Up to now I have no problem with 6111 ... with 2.6.10 they will not work (unless you know different)

6629 drivers build but I get logo & nothing else

Searching nvidia forum & (Gentoo forum) there does not seem to be a fix

I use a GeForce MX440 128 mb atm ...

Has anyone got this graf card to work with 6629 or know of a fix....????

Re: Nvidia 6629 ..

2.6.10-rcX and 2.6.10 final + newest nvidia drivers:

-compile agpgart into kernel,
-install nvidia driver which you've downloaded from nvidia.com,
-xorg.conf:

    Driver "nvidia"
    Option "NvAgp" "2"

It works for me. I don't need any patches.

Re: Nvidia 6629 ..

the patches include:
one patch that the 2.6 kernel runs as fast as 2.4
other patches for older pci cards
patches for cedega winex
and memory patches

if you are not affected by these then the normal driver will work for you
