Re: July 2009 Screenshots

Hello. Before I started using Arch I spent a few weeks lurking these forums. I learnt a lot here, enjoyed seeing other people's scripts and screen shots, and promised myself to try to take part should I make Arch my working distribution. Now I've been using Arch for a while, maybe a month or so, I've decided to honour that promise to myself, and thought this thread would be the best place to dip my toe in the water as they say. So here's a screenshot I took this morning. I'm not entirely happy with the colours, but not so dissatisfied that I've made any move to change them. Hopefully, though, I will have something a little nicer when I post again in August.

Re: July 2009 Screenshots

Alec, if you need some terminal color inspiration, phrak has a bunch of themes here: http://phraktured.net/terminal-colors/ and you should also dig up the terminal color theme thread on here if you haven't checked it out already.

Re: July 2009 Screenshots

I've been changing my desktop every other week.... I hate new computer syndrom... ><

screenshotmhs.th.jpg

desktopartsy.th.jpg

desktopartsy2.th.jpg

I use xfce and ussually just have conky running with awn and gnome-do. I do everything else with right click menus and tilda. I'm thinking of switching back to fluxbox, but xfce is so convenient with compositioning support built in...

I suppose you asked because of the conky bug with interpreting everything after a "#" as a comment...

not sure if it already existed (i searched, i swear)... but bug filedbig_smile

I came across the same problem but it isn't actually a bug (sort of):

    * Allow the use of '#' for comments within text area (can be escaped with '\#')

the only problem is when I try to escape it with \ it does nothing. So it seems to be a bug after all just in a different place. (If anyone has success with the escaping please do post).
