An interesting issue with Diablo2 and battle.net

It seems as though I cannot log onto my D2 account that was created in windows... When I put in the usr/pass it says account does not exist, I boot into Windows Seven and everything works fine.  Does anyone have even a guess to what the problem could be?  Only thing I can think of would be fonts but I doubt that would matter.  Also I should note that if I create the account in wine it works fine though I haven't tried using an account made in linux on Windows.  Being D2 there is no problem just simply starting over with a new account, but I just thought it an odd problem and curious to how it could even work like that.

edit:

I found my answer, in windows the default realm was u.s. east and if i remember correctly I had no other choice.  Even tho I copied the folder the default realm was U.S. west.  So either stupid on my part or stupid on theirs.
