Yesterday, after a reboot, I am suddenly finding that HAL won't start anymore.
As far as I can see, it hasn't been upgraded for a while, tried re-installing as well. running
/etc/rc.d/hal start
just leaves it hanging at 'busy'.
How can I fix this?

Taken from the wiki:
NOTE: Some people have reported problems with this setup. If you also experience problems also you should try loading hal first followed by dbus.
You tried it?

I'm dyslexic Please do not complain about puntuation or spelling and remember most dyslexic people have above average iq.

Also, try unplugging one external device and then booting, if it works you know the problem. Do that until you've done them all.
