upgraded xmule crashes

Hi, the latest version of xmule crashes with this error when starting:

xmule: CryptoXMpp.cpp:3629: void CryptoXMpp::RecursiveMultiplyTop(CryptoXMpp::word*, CryptoXMpp::word*, const CryptoXMpp::word*, const CryptoXMpp::word*, const CryptoXMpp::word*, unsigned int, const P*) [with P = CryptoXMpp::LowLevel]: Assertion `carry >= 0 && carry <= 2' failed.
Aborted

How can I fix it or revert to previous version please?

amule should work fine ... and is found in extra

yes, I've switched to amule for time being. There's not much to choose between the two.

i don't even remember now but one of the two replaces the other because one is a dead project.
