How to add a patch ? [SOLVED]

I'm trying to add a patch for a broken gdesklets.

I filed a bug report, and was asked to "apply the attached patch to /usr/lib/gdesklets and try running it again"

I've never applied a patch, and there is no /usr/lib/gdesklets file, but it's a directory.

See: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gdesklets/+bug/403774

I want to try the patch, but really don't know how to procede.

Re: How to add a patch ? [SOLVED]

Thank you.

I didn't realize that "patch" was an application to run in a shell.
