Good day all,
I was wondering if there are any metrics that reveal the growth of Arch over the years since its founding. They could be of any variety, from number of packages in Community, to number of downloads and download mirrors, posts to forums, ArchWiki articles, number of developers and Trusted Users, etc. I am just curious to know if anybody has some hard numbers charting Arch's growth.
I am, slowly, writing an Arch Linux review article, and if possible I would like to include such information in the section about the history of Arch.
Many thanks,
Luke Seubert

Thanks Allan, that is exactly the sort of thing I was looking for.
Any other interesting bits out there?

There is a web archive if you want to use that as historical reference: http://web.archive.org/web/*/archlinux.org

Well, I found interesting an analysis of the news history. You can see an explosion of activity at some point, as well as the shift from a named release system to a solid rolling release.
Edit: http://www.archlinux.org/news/ is what I was referring to. You can also, in a way, see the relative development of some of Arch's tools to becoming what they are today.

Well, I just gotta blow my own horn here a little bit here ![]()
A while back I did a fairly large revision of the ArchWiki page about Arch Linux reviews. See the Arch Linux Press Review wikipage for all the details. There has been a significant surge in reviews of Arch Linux over the past few years, although, oddly, the news has slacked off lately.
And yeah, I suppose that increasing numbers of reviews is a sort of metric of Arch Linux growth. But I am looking for harder numbers. Thanks for the reminder to check the Internet Archive Wayback Machine. That should prove useful.
